Lallemand Announces Claim Extension for BIOPOWER® SC in Canada

Milwaukee, Wisconsin – December 10, 2025 – Lallemand Animal Nutrition is pleased to announce that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has extended its approved claims for BIOPOWER® SC, a viable yeast product (Saccharomyces cerevisiae CNCM I-1077) classified as a gut modifier in Canada. The extension adds calves, kid goats and lambs for rearing under registration numbers 982800 and 982803, following a review process that began in 2023. This expansion broadens the scope of CFIA-approved benefits for BIOPOWER SC and underscores Lallemand’s commitment to science-driven, performance-focused microbial solutions.

The new claim states that BIOPOWER SC may improve feed conversion ratio and may increase weight gain in calves, kid goats and lambs for rearing. This extension applies to BIOPOWER SC 20 and BIOPOWER SC 10ME in Canada, which can be incorporated into premixes, mash feeds, and heat-processed applications, such as pelleting, tubs, and liquid feeds.
